About the Author

Anthony Ordille's journey began in Hammonton, New Jersey, a stark contrast to the path his life would later take. Born into a family with a truck driver father and a stay-at-home mother, he was one of six children. His early years were marked by attendance at Catholic school, followed by graduation from public high school in 1976. However, as a teenager, Anthony strayed from his spiritual upbringing, embracing rebellion and a hateful disposition, leading him down a road of actions he would later deeply regret.

For over sixteen years, Anthony's life was consumed by a destructive cycle of alcohol, drugs, deceit, infidelity, and the allure of rock 'n' roll. His drug use spanned a wide spectrum, including marijuana, speed, LSD, crack cocaine, heroin, and various other substances. Alcohol was a constant companion, often consumed from morning until he passed out, sometimes for days on end. The immense pain he endured led him to a desperate point where he contemplated ending his own life. Yet, in what he later recognized as divine intervention, his attempt was thwarted, and he sought refuge with his family.

That pivotal night marked the end of his suffering and the beginning of a profound transformation. After a period of detoxification, Anthony entered the Riverside House Rehab Center. It was there, amidst the healing process, that he encountered the poem "Footprints in the Sand." The imagery resonated deeply, leading him to reflect on the years he had spent estranged from God, believing he had walked alone. During a moment of prayer, he asked for forgiveness, and he distinctly heard a divine reassurance: it was not his prints in the sand, but God's, carrying him all along. This experience redirected his life toward faith, leading him to embrace God's mercy and forgiveness.

Following rehab, Anthony became deeply involved in Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous for five years. He actively participated in meetings, spoke at correctional facilities and various institutions, and held leadership positions. However, he eventually felt a pull towards a life beyond the confines of the program, gradually stepping back from his active involvement. Regrettably, a few years later, the familiar comforts of his past began to resurface. He found himself frequenting bars for lunch and associating with individuals who drank, and the occasional beer during the weekend campground getaways evolved into a more consistent pattern. Ultimately led to the unraveling of his life.

Ten years after his initial rehabilitation, Anthony found himself facing a crisis he never anticipated. While he had managed to avoid drugs, his drinking had escalated to a point of being out of control, a fact his wife also recognized, leading to their separation and eventually, divorce. He understood that Jesus Christ needed to be the central focus of his life. On October 9, 1998, Anthony made the definitive decision to accept Jesus as the Lord of his life.

His newfound faith propelled him into active church participation. He joined the choir, briefly served as a soundboard operator, and readily assisted with various church activities. After eighteen months, he began attending a church on Sunday nights, which became his primary spiritual home for the next four years. His commitment led him to join the worship team, collaborate with the pastor in ministry, and participate in the statewide prayer ministry for New Jersey.

Concurrently, Anthony embarked on a successful career at Sam's Club. Within three months of starting as a night stocker, he was promoted to Personnel Manager, and within nine months, he ascended to management. This career progression necessitated relocation to two other states. While in Pennsylvania, he pursued a home study course from the World Harvest Bible College External Studies and actively engaged with a local church as his work schedule allowed. During his tenure at Sam's Club, he integrated his faith into his professional life, evangelizing within the workplace. His role as Personnel Manager provided opportunities for him to offer prayer and guidance to colleagues. Ultimately, he left Sam's Club to dedicate himself to ministry, relocating to the Fort Worth, Texas area. Upon settling, the Ordille family joined Eagle Mountain International Church, where Anthony became involved in the men's group, prayer ministries, and other areas of service for four years.

Anthony’s path took an unexpected turn when the ministry, his previous calling, no longer provided the support he needed. It was a period of recalibration, a moment to pivot and explore new avenues. With a renewed sense of purpose, he re-entered the workforce, finding a significant opportunity at Remington College. For a decade, he dedicated his skills and leadership as the Facility Manager, a role that allowed him to contribute his expertise in a tangible and impactful way.

Anthony's commitment to theological education culminated in the completion of an Associate Degree Program of Christian Studies (ACS) with a 3.8 GPA, a Bachelor Degree Program in Church Ministry (BCh.M) with a 3.9 GPA, and all necessary certifications to become a Licensed Minister through The Sure Foundation Fellowship. In the summer of 2010, the Ordille family became members of Gateway Church in Southlake, TX. Anthony immediately began volunteering, joining the usher team and later being appointed captain. In June 2012, he was invited to be an overseer at one of the church's new campuses, the Fort Worth Campus, and in January 2013, he was invited to apply for the Deacon Ministry and was ordained on March 18, 2013.

Expanding his reach into the mission field, Anthony Ordille published his first book in the spring of 2013, "An Injection of Faith: One Addict's Journey to Deliverance." The profound impact of this memoir on readers' lives inspired him to release "12 Steps to an Addictive Free Life" in 2016, accompanied by a workbook titled "Addiction-Free Life." This Christ-centric, Biblical 12-step program positions God and Jesus as the ultimate higher power for overcoming addictions. In 2021, he further diversified his writings with "My Daily Scriptures: A Day-by-Day Bible Reading Guide," designed to assist Christians in reading through the Bible in a year. Subsequent years saw the release of "Breaking the Chains of Addiction: An Introduction to Addiction-Free Life," "Overcome Addiction by God’s Grace: 12 Steps to Freedom" (a revised edition of the Addiction-Free Life program with additional chapters), and his first fictional work, "Messiah’s Preparation—A Christian historical fiction of Jesus in the wilderness."

Anthony, a father of two biological children and one adopted son, currently resides in Dalzell, South Carolina, where he is actively involved at Christ Community Church. He aspires for his life experiences to motivate those battling addictions to discover the truth and follow his path to hope, peace, and forgiveness through his testimony and the program.
